Here is how
to reap a plentiful harvest especially for first time gardeners.
Personally,
we prefer raised garden beds because they are easy to manage for children,
elders, and for those who may need wheelchair accessibility. Raised beds are
easy to make or you can purchase economical raised bed kit online or at most
hardware or garden stores.
Use organic
compost to begin your garden. Soil conditioners such as worm castings or fish emulsion
will make your plant vibrant and healthy. Don’t use chemicals for pest control
instead use natural organic garden friends such as ladybugs or Dio Tenacious
earth.
Easy plants
to begin with are herbs (parsley, mint, chives, oregano, basil etc.) ,
tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, beans, beans, okra, or peas). Make sure to use
non-gmo organic seed or seedlings.
Herbs do not
necessarily require direct sunlight, however most of your vine plants do. Be sure your plants get enough water, but be
careful not to over water.
Growing your
own food can help reduce your grocery budget, it is healthier for you, the entire family can enjoy planting together, and it
is a great stress reliever.
Enjoy your
summer, love your garden and reap a plentiful harvest!
